We’re thrilled to announce that our lab, in collaboration with our research partners, will showcase innovative findings at the 2025 Transportation Research Board (TRB) Annual Meeting this January in Washington, D.C. Representing our lab at the conference are Dr. Bat-hen Nahmias-Biran and doctoral student Gabriel Dadashev.

Our team will present two pivotal projects, developed in partnership with the simulation company Aimsun Next:

  1. "Optimizing Automated Mobility on-Demand Operation with Markovian Model: A Case Study of the Tel-Aviv Metropolis in 2040". Dadashev, G., Yfantis, L., Nahmias-Biran B.

  2. "Autonomous on-Demand Shuttles for First Mile-Last Mile Connectivity: Design, Optimization, and Impact Assessment.". Roy D., Dadashev, G., Yfantis, L., Nahmias-Biran, B., Hasan, S.

Dr. Bat-hen Nahmias-Biran, currently conducting advanced research at the Joint Research Centre (JRC) in Ispra, and has been involved in several impactful projects. Her recent collaborations include:

  1. "Uncovering the Hidden Energy Costs of Autonomous Vehicle Systems and Service Deployment Strategies" Garus, A., Albano, G., Baldini, G., Mattas, K., Nahmias-Biran, B., Ciuffo, B.

  2. "Unveiling the Energy Impact of Vehicles’ Automation: A First Empirical Estimation" Albano, G., Mattas, K., Tansini, A., Vass, S., Donà, R., Garus, A., Sartori-Vieira, F., Fontaras, G., Nahmias-Biran, B., Ciuffo, B.

  3. "Managing Electric Vehicle Charging Stations via Credit-Based Schemes: First Empirical Results". Albano, G., Tarantola, S., De Ambrosis, L., Ferretti, F., Nahmias-Biran, B., Ciuffo.

Additionally, our esteemed colleague Serio Angelo Maria Agriesti from Aalto University presented the study: "A Simulation-Based Framework for Quantifying Potential Automated Mobility-on-Demand Loss Due to Operational Constraints in Mobility Services". Agriesti, S. A. M. , Roncoli, C, Nahmias-Biran, B.
